Pregnancy Care Centers

Bethany supports the mission of our local pregnancy care centers.

According to their website:
"These centers provide complete, accurate information and compassionate peer counseling to women who are making decisions about their possible pregnancies. Everything we do is focused on allowing you to make healthy, informed and livable choices. Our caring staff will assist you in exploring all your options in a supportive and non-pressured environment."

The Pregnancy Care Centers offer a variety of free and confidential services:

• Reliable pregnancy tests
• Information on all your options including parenting, adoption and abortion
• Compassionate peer counseling
• Referrals to community agencies including the Oregon Health Plan and WIC
• Local medical referrals (no abortion referrals)
• Material assistance (maternity and baby clothing and supplies)
• Post-abortion support group
• "New Beginnings" parenting classes
• Housing referrals
• Adoption referrals

Resource Center

The Resource Center is located at the end of the Children's hallway nearest the Main Entrance.
This area doubles as our conference room for weekly meetings, but it is more than that.
The Resource Center houses our small church library, with books and videos available for checkout.
Nancy Eaton maintains our catalog.

Our newest addition is a modern set of Bible commentaries from Inter-Varsity Press. Each volume covers one book of the Bible.
We have subscribed to this new series and are adding approximately one commentary per month.

To check out an item:

Fill out the library card in the pocket of the book or video.

Put the card in the basket on the bookshelf.

Please return the item promptly within two weeks to the next person may use it.

The Canby Center

Bethany enthusiastically supports the mission of The Canby Center. According to their website, The Canby Center has a vision of Canby:
"A community where each individual has a sense of dignity,
has achieved self-reliance, and is a contributing member of society.
A community of families, healthy and whole, living chemically-independent, stable lives.
A community where homelessness and hunger no longer exists,
and where individual members take ownership of their health.
A community where those living lives surrendered to God selflessly serve others."

Through such initiatives as Real Life 101, Canby Cares, Back to School Project, and I'm A Senior, The Canby Center has made a significant impact in the Canby community in just a short time. We encourage you to financially support and to get involved in The Canby Center, and to serve God by learning to use the unique way that God has made you to then serve other people.

Love INC

Bethany also supports Love INC (Love In the Name of Christ).
Love INC of Clackamas County is "a network of Clackamas County churches working together to help the poor and the needy in our communities.
Through an intake and referral clearinghouse staffed by volunteers, we connect people in need with the resources and programs of nearly 50 churches and thousands of potential volunteers in those 50 congregations."
The furniture ministry for Love INC is stored in part of the The Canby Center's building.
Love INC is also worthy of your donations and your volunteer service.

Narcotics Anonymous Group

Bethany hosts a local Narcotics Anonymous Group on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 7:00-8:30 pm.

Bethany Pastors offer spiritual direction, and we can meet with you individually for some situations. For needs that require additional resources or specialized training, we have contacts with local counselors, treatment centers, or programs run through other area churches or social agencies.
We will confidentially help you get the help that you need.

Counseling Referrals

God created us this way, so there is no way around it.
We NEED to be in relationship, with God, and with other people.

When our relationships are going well, we are strong and healthy and supported.
When our relationships are damaged, it causes us pain and often pulls us down.

You know how wild animals pick off the sick and wounded at the edge of the herd?
Please don't try to go it alone. Satan wants you to feel isolated and helpless.
Don't let him win! It is ok to admit that you need help.

Church is supposed to be a safe place where we can find help and healing.
We are here to provide spiritual direction, to talk with you and pray for you..
If you need more help than we can provide, we will help you find the help you need.
