Church Planting Strategy

The Bethany Family invests in church planting for two primary reasons. First, we are evangelical and believe that God has asked us to share the story of Jesus with others. We care about sending missionaries to faraway places, but we also care about our own community. Church planting allows us to expand our influence to multiple locations, ultimately reaching more people. Second, as the City of Canby has grown up around us, our leadership has determined that Bethany is in a prime location, and we want to stay put. Rather than relocating or investing in larger facilities as our base grows, we choose to start healthy new congregations as God supplies the people and resources to send them out.

Does church planting resonate with you? Let us know and watch for news of future church plants from Bethany or one of our daughters. We need to "rest" after each birth, so the timing of the next church plant has not yet been determined. Another way that you can help is to donate a gift designated to the "Church Plant Fund" to help us save up seed money for the next launch.

If you live closer to one of our church plants, or have friends or family near one of our daughters, you should pay them a visit. Each has a unique flavor, and their different sizes and meeting environments give you the opportunity to find a place where you really connect. We realize Bethany will not fit everybody, and we want you to find a place where you can grow spiritually and where you can find joy in serving the Lord and others.
